Mary Melinda

Mary Melinda Grant Buxton, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, March 30, 2012, in Missoula, Montana. She was born June 26, 1954 in Tulsa,OK to Tom Grant Jr. and Kathryn Conner Grant. She was the third born of the eight Grant children. Linda had a wonderful way with people always providing an unending sense of humor and an unforgettable, contagious laugh.

She graduated from Monte Cassino High School in 1972, where she excelled academically and represented her school as a varsity cheerleader. She graduated from the University of Montana in 1976. Throughout her lifetime, Linda was always actively engaged in family gatherings and loved to return to Tulsa for social functions. Linda was deeply devoted to her family and organized the Mom’s of Military Support Organization while her son, Conner, served in Iraq as a Marine. Her dedication to family continued most recently when she traveled to Tulsa to assist with the care-giving for her parents, even while her own health was failing. Though Linda lived in Missoula far longer than in Tulsa, she always loved returning to TTown to rekindle the many memories with family and friends.

Linda is survived by her parents Kathryn and Tom Grant, Jr. of Tulsa, her husband. Marlin Buxton III of Missoula, her children Conner Buxton (Francienne) and Madeline Buxton Parr (Dillon) of Missoula. Surviving grandchildren include Cameron Buxton and Kanin Parr. Her seven surviving brothers and sisters are Cathy Grant of Tulsa, Sheila Michie (Charles) of Tulsa, Peggy Grant of Tulsa, Tom Grant III (Toni) of Las Vegas, NV, Jim Grant (Laurie) of Falls Church, VA, Richard Grant (Claire) of Tulsa and Peter Grant of Tulsa. Linda was also very proud of her fourteen nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, April 10th, at Christ the King Catholic Church.

Memorials may be sent in acknowledgement of Linda Buxton to CCFA (Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation) National Processing Center, P.O. Box 1245, Albert Lea, Minnesota 56007.
